LingoFlow ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

• Message text for translation: When a message is translated, its text is sent to the Google Translate API (translate.googleapis.com). This is necessary for the translation feature to work.
• Extension settings: Your preferred language and on/off state are stored locally in chrome.storage.sync, which may sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers.
• Usage count: The number of translations used today is stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device only.
• License key: If you purchase Pro, your license key is stored in chrome.storage.sync to verify your subscription status.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information (name, email, IP address, etc.).
• We do not track which websites you visit or which messages you translate.
• We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
• Translated text is sent directly to Google's API and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Third-Party Services

• Google Translate API — used to perform translations. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Lemon Squeezy — used for payment processing if you purchase Pro. See Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Workers — used to verify your license key. No personal data is stored. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

4. Permissions Explained

• storage — to save your language preference and usage count locally.
• tabs — to open the upgrade page when you click "Upgrade to Pro".
• host_permissions (discord.com, telegram, x.com, etc.) — to read message content on supported sites for translation. The Extension only reads visible message text; it does not access account credentials or private data.

5. Data Retention

All data stored by the Extension resides on your device or in your Chrome sync account. Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data.

6. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
